Freedom to Live Wirelessly

Congratulations to Lindsey. Comment #74 out of 595 entries! Lindsey just became a mama for the 2nd time, so I think she'll put this fabulous printer to work soon! Thanks for your wonderful entries.

---CONTEST CLOSED---

I couldn't hide my giddiness from the delivery man who showed up at my door with one of these:

It's HP's latest and greatest: The Wireless HP Photosmart C6380 All-in-One that I'm reviewing for the fine people over at BlogHer. Never have I owned such a lovely piece of machinery! I could hardly wait to open the box and start to play! Neither could the boys...

Opening and setting up became a family event.

Set-up went off without a hitch and without a wire. It's a toss up on what I love most about this printer - it's wireless feature or it's amazing photo printing quality.

On one hand, the wireless capability is life-changing. I don't know about you, but if printing means transporting my labtop to the printer, hooking up the cords from the printer to the labtop, waiting on it to print, and then disconnecting the messy cords, it's hardly worth the energy. Well, that and the fact that my printer was from 1992 and pretty much lacks any sort of functionality other than dust collecting. Now I can hit "Print" from anywhere in our house, and pick it up at my convieniece. If only groceries could magically appear out the tray, we'd be SET!

As for the photo quality, it's unbelievable. It far exceeded my expectations with it's streak-free, crisp, vivid prints. For those of you who follow my blog at 4tunate, you know how much I adore photography. In the past getting my photos from my computer to printed form was a rare event. I think many of us find this as digital's biggest drawback. However, in a matter of minutes I had a stack of pictures printed and ready for display (while still in my pajamas, I might add). Talk about making life easier!

The Wireless HP Photosmart C6380 All-in-One Printer, also features a scanner. Bonus! Plus, it has it's own photo tray and letter tray, so you don't even have to get up from your comfy spot to switch out the paper. If you need more proof of its convienient features, need I mention that you can edit and print directly from your camera's memory card? Freedom without strings wires!

Check out more specific details over at HP.

HP also has a Creative Studio, where you can make cards, calendars, crafts, scrapbook pages, stationary and even Valentine's Day goodies. I made this calendar for our fridge in 5 minutes tops!

The creative possibilities are endless!

The BEST part of this review is that I get to share this lovely piece of machinery! That's right, HP is generously giving one of these away to a lucky commenter! Here's how you can make your life easier too: (Read carefully 'cuz I want you to WIN!!!)

To enter, leave me a comment w/ your email address and answer the question:

How would the HP Photosmart give you Freedom Without Wires?

You can also leave a link to your post on your own blog in the comments below.

The contest will begin at 12:00 a.m. (PST) on Monday, February 9th, and will end Sunday, February 16th at 11:59 p.m (PST). Make sure that the e-mail address you leave is correct.

This is so neat. I love to scrapbook, but am a little behind times, due to the fact that I don't have a photo printer. I have to send all my digital pictures off and pick them up. Winning a wireless photo printer would be so awesome. It would allow more time to work on my scrapbooks. Thanks for the chance.

Between working full time and studying full time for my Master's, a wireless printer would be fabulous because I would be able to print photos of my babies at work to share with their families instead of having to make trips to Target or Walmart to print them out -- which takes so much time -- waiting for a printer to use! I would be able to totally multitask and it would be amazing!

Hey there - long time no comment - ha! but still keep track of how you're doing and how the boys are growing. Actually I don't have a digital camera yet (I know, I'm still in the dark ages-ha). However, I have been looking at them and if I had a printer like this it would certainly prompt me to get a digital and be with the "IN" crowd. Simple is what I would want that's for sure! I'm always getting extra copies of photos for mom of the kids so this would be quite nice. But I never win anything - so I'm not holding my breath - ha! Take care and glad to read that you are all mending now from your bugs. Love ya = Darla (dwhite2@amdocs.com)

To have a printer - period - would be wonderful. Hubby gave ours to some friends 7 YEARS AGO, and it has yet to be replaced. The beauty of placing a printer up on the shelf and not down underneath the computer cabinet because of connections, would be marvelous; and the capability of printing whatever I gosh darn want to is too exciting for words!!!

It isn't the cartridge, I changed it and called the company and they said it would be cheaper to buy a new one than fix it. I have a new grandbaby due Feb 20th and it would be nice to print her pics that they email me. They live out of state and my son is also in the airforce so I don't get to see them often.

Great review, Jen!

Love the idea of moving this from room to room.

I am taking photography classes and scrap booking classes. I love to print and "test" my pages, so being able to move this to whatever room I am working in (living room, kitchen, bedroom, office, deck) and be able to see what the pictures look like that I am working on would be wonderful. We have an amazing view off our deck of the mountains and reservoir, so I am always out there taking pictures. Pictures of whatever the weather is bringing us that day, whatever the wildlife brings me that day, whatever my children and our golden retriever are doing at the moment, etc. What a neat idea for a printer - I'm so curious and filled with questions.

Would love to win a new printer/any printer at all would be great haha I'm currently looking for a job and the process to print something out includes sending an email to my sister and asking her to print it out at work or emailing it to her and then driving to her house to print it out! What a fantastic giveaway! Freedom without wires, let me count the ways...

First, it would be the finishing touch to my home office (that I am setting up to eliminate the three hours I spend each day commuting). So, freedom from traffic = good.

I have two very curious children who make it their mission in life to disconnect peripherals. No wires = no disconnected computer. Yay!

Being able to print from my laptop without saving to a keydrive and heading off to the hardwired computer (because the cords are carefully hidden...see note above)? Priceless.

Our printer has died and as of right now we are unable to afford a new one. As a homeschooling mom to 3 girls, I need to print things often. We have 3 computers and having a wireless would make it so we don't have to email and save just so we can print from the one computer. I had no idea something this amazing even existed! It sure would save time and energy that I can just devote to schooling my girls instead of having to travel to the local Office Depot to print things.

I would love to have the ability to share a wireless printer in my house. I'm always wanting to print something quick - directions, a recipe, etc. and I wind up just taking a piece of paper and writing things down because I don't want to take my laptop into the other room where the printer is! Not needing wires means I could just print from whatever room I feel like working in that day.

Joan S on February 13, 2009 at 10:14 AM said...

Wireless means I could put the printer anywhere that is easily reachable and could bypass the computer on my way to printing photos with wonderful definition. It means that my family could actually share photos rather than them being out of date by the time I get around to putting them into the computer, etc. And my printer doesn't make crisp photos like this one.

I have a tight space where my computer, printer, phone and all the kid-related school junk end up. Not to mention all MY receipts, blogging stuff, bills and everything. It wouldn't be so bad if it was in an office where I could close the door to hide it. It's a kitchen desk area and it's embarrassing! Being able to move the printer ANYWHERE and still print would open up the space to some kind of organizational feature (like 'in' boxes) to help unclutter it all!

I recently had surgery and have been spending a lot of time on my laptop in bed, recuperating...of course, anytime I wanted to print anything, I had to either convince my husband to do it for me or try to hobble into the other room to do it...neither of which was a very good option. Wireless printing would make things SOOOOOOO much easier!

What a great opportunity! Thank you!

This looks like a wonderful printer. I, too, have the problem of having to carry the laptop to the printer. Also, it's impossible to keep the printer out of my toddler's reach since the cord won't stretch, and well... I'm not about to HOLD the laptop while it prints. Having a wireless printer would allow me to place it out of my toddler's reach while still allowing both of our computers to print documents and photos.

My email address can be found on my profile.

I use a laptop and it is very hard to print. The desktop computer is connected to the printer so for me to print from the laptop I have to put whatever I want to print on a USB drive, take it over to the desktop, then print. It gets quite tiresome to do so. Also THOSE CABLES... they conspire to tangle and then to trip me. Freedom from cables would be fantastic.

I love today's giveaway. This printer has been on my wish list for quite a while, but I can't afford it right now. I have seven children, and very little space for computer items. This would allow our two computers, plus my husband's work computer which comes home with him sometimes, to all use the same printer. I've tried to network our current printer into our wireless system, but it is so ancient that its driver just won't cooperate. Plus, I could put this beautiful new printer in a location my 3-year-old can't reach, which would also save my house. There are dozens of sheets of computer paper stolen by him each day to color on and strew all over our home.

Going Wireless Gives me Freedom is a wish that I would love to make a reality. Right now I can only imagine the freedom it would give me. I am a busy mother of 3 young children all under the age of 10 so going wireless would give me the freedom to be en effective mother as well as allow me to multi-task and get some business work done at the same time. I have a stationary home office, full of wires and connected equipment. I am trying to run a small home based business out of the home selling my digital art. Unfortunately I can only work when the kids are napping, or late at night when I am not watching them. It limits my output, and printing is the major output that I do to send samples of my work to prospective clients. Going to wireless would allow me to be able to print from any room in the house opening up the times I can get work done to 100% of the time! Wow, it truly would change my life and kick my workflow up several notches. One of my New Years resolutions was to manage my time more effectively and going wireless truly would allow me to multi-task and manage my time as I so want to do!
