This is a compensated review from BlogHer and Snapfish.

BlogHer and Snapfish recently offered me the opportunity to review their website and products for Father's Day. I was thrilled to do so for a couple of reasons:

1. I LOVE photography, so a site specializing in gifts that showcase photos - PERFECT!

2. I'm such a procrastinator when it comes to holidays such as Father's Day. It sneaks up on me EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Head's up Father's Day is June 21st, so now's the time to start planning! One stop shopping - all the better!

When I'm picking out a gift for the one I love, I want that gift to hold significance. I'm not satisfied with a traditional Father's Day tie, grill tools, or a pointless (in my feminine opinion) gadget. Regardless of the price, I want my gift to be valued.

Snapfish offers a wide assortment of these memorable gifts; Over 100 unique, customizable gifts, in fact! Take a look at a few of my favorite personalized creations, perfect for DAD:

snapfish

> Desk Organizer

> Photo Key Chain

> Golf Towel

> Frosted Stein

> Photo Books

These gifts are a "snap" to make, most in a 3 step process, that make the even non-tech savvy smile. I was honestly shocked at how quickly my pictures uploaded to their site. You can create gifts in a matter of minutes, and Snapfish offers easy cropping and editing tools to make your creations even more top notch! It's no wonder they are "the number one online photo service, with more than 60 million members in 20 countries and 2 billion unique photos stored online".

The honest to goodness hardest part of placing my order was the decision making! After clicking through a jillion choices, I opted for these 3 selections: a photo panel, a photo greeting card, and a journal lined notebook.

Here's an even better look at each of my lovely selections:

DSC_1833-1

It's pretty rare to have any pictures of "just me" anymore, so I created a 5x7 photo greeting card for Brad to frame for his office.  You can even personalize the inscription on the back...but I'll spare you the gushy gushy!

DSC_1834

I CAN however share with you the message inside this journal-lined notebook. (That's Henry and Clark holding each other's sweet hands, by the way.) The inscription inside reads:

Daddy, Thank you for Holding our Hands AND our Hearts.

Father's Day 2009

 DSC_1838

My final and FAVORITE selection is this 8x10 wood photo panel. This is one of the best products Snapfish offers! It exceeded my expectations for both quality and price at only $14.99. Have you seen 4 finer looking gentlemen? We're not waiting until June to put this on display!

DSC_1840

In fact, I couldn't contain myself from revealing the gifts I designed for my favorite guy on the planet a tad early. His reactions were just what I was hoping for! He too was impressed with the overall caliber of these gifts, which is a true compliment coming from a graphics major!

=========================================================================

I know you must be chompin' at the bit to create your own one-of-kind masterpieces, so how does a $50 gift card sound to get you started?

My favorite photo memory of my Dad is a picture taken about 7 years ago now. He used to get silly excited about watching re-runs of the TV show JAG. He used to jump in the air and click his feet together, while clapping. I managed to grab a photo mid-air.

My favorite photo would be of my dad and I playing "horse" with a white basketball (my dad spray painted it) at my wedding reception. He is in a suit and I am in my wedding dress. It was our Father of the Bride movie moment and a great memory.

My favorite photo ever of my dad is a picture taken the summer he past away. I was 20 years old and he went on vacation with just my mom. they went and toured the gardens and mansions in Rhode Island. My father was NEVER and I mean NEVER without a cell phone in his ear. He had a cell phone long before others did. He lived and breathed work. When we would be in Disney growing up we would have PHONE BREAKS. We would stand by the pay phone while my dad made phone calls. Nothing like 5 kids waiting for an adult to make business calls. So back to the picture, my mom told him the ONLY way he was allowed to go on these garden tours with her was if he left his cell phone LOCKED in the glove box. She had the key and he was in no way allowed to access the phone during the tour. He did it and tourtered her along the way by posing like statues and goofing around on the tour. The picture is priceless and sits on my desk at work, the corporation my dad built! I love it!

I will post about it on my blog as well as Twitter. I will let you know when I did. I will even post the famous picture!

My favorite photo memory of my "dad" was actually of my step father and I at my wedding. He was a man who I battled with a lot as a teen because he wasn't my "real dad." But once I grew up, I learned what a real dad was didn't come from DNA.

My favorite photo memory of me and my dad is from my wedding, just before he walked me down the isle. I just laugh when I see our peaceful, happy faces in the picture because just seconds after it was taken, my dad dashed into action to rescue all of the rose petals that the flower girl had just dumped the second she stepped on the isle runner. She finished her flower girl duties with a a twirl when she got to the front of the church!

We have so many great "dad" stories in our fam. He loves his kids tremendously and now he is showering his love on to his grandkids. We have so many precious pictures of him rocking his grandbabies. After a getting the babies to sleep he tips the recliner back so the two of them can catch a cat nap together. We caught that on film too!

My favorite photo memory of my dad is from my brother's graduation from boot camp in 1999. He is beaming with pride and looks so happy and carefree. Less then a year after my brother graduated from Basic Training, he was killed in an accident. I don't think that smile has crossed my dad's face since. It was almost 9 years ago, but when I look at pictures of him now, I see so much pain in his smile.
Another favorite is the first picture of him holding my son!

My favorite photo memory of my dad is a picture of him in the boat his own father gave him a few years before he died. My Dad's father was never a very attentive or demonstrative father. My dad had very few affirmations of love from him throughout his life. When my Grandpa gave him the boat it was the most significant act of affirmation he had ever received from him. That boat was very precious to him and I saw him shed a few tears the day he had to sell it.

My favorite photo memory of my Dad... tough question! Can I choose two? They are both pictures that I took of my dad.

I love this one (http://www.flickr.com/photos/bleach226/450276101/) because I love seeing myself reflected in my dad's sunglasses. It means so much to see myself "through his eyes." I actually gave his a copy of this picture for Father's Day a couple of years ago.

I also really like this one (http://www.flickr.com/photos/bleach226/578541227/) because even though he's seemingly invisible due to the motion blur... it reminds me that my dad plays with me. He took the time and invested in the art of crafting the picture. We had so much fun coming up with different ways to make the light shine and swirl. It was a fantastic night and one I treasure through the photo.

My favorite photo memory of my dad actually happened just last year on Father's Day. My mom and dad were visiting from out of town and attended church with us. At the Father's Day brunch that morning, they took pictures of all the dads with their children. My dad has 3 children, but it just so happened that I was the only one present at the time and I got to take a picture with him by ourselves. It was a special moment as I had just celebrated my first mother's day a month prior and somehow I felt more connected to him at that moment than ever before!

Our son used to have quite the fascination with lights and fans and every time we went to my parents' house (which was usually at least once a week), my dad would pick him up and carry him through there house on the "Fan and light tour". They'd stop under each one and look up and point and my son would say "yight!" My favorite photo is my dad holding my son and pointing up to the ceiling.

I do have tons of pictures of my twins with their dad, though. Picking just one moment, one memory, one photo is impossible. There are so many great ones - all 3 of the boys conked out and taking a nap. Dad feeding them for the first time (one was 4lbs at birth and is dwarfed in his fathers hands.) And there are so many more everyday moments.

My favorite mental photograph of my dad has to be my first day of college.

I was his first born and so much a daddy's girl. He was a tough farmer. Never showed his feelings much, and, unfortunately, a tough spring made him miss out on some important events my senior year.

As I began to walk the hill to my dorm alone, I took one final look at my parents. There was my dad with watery eyes and tears running down his face. As hard as it was to leave that day, that made it the best day in the world.

Thanks for this opportunity.

My favorite photo memory of my dad was when I returned from a year in Germany as an exchange student. I was only 16 when I went, and 17 when I came back. My dad was never demonstrative, but when my family picked me up at the airport, we were driving home and were stopped at an intersection where there was a man selling single roses. My dad beckoned him over and bought me one. That told me he missed me being gone for a year! When we got home, we took a family photo and I had my rose. :-)

Your boys are beautiful, by the way. You have a truly gorgeous family.

"What's your favorite photographed memory of your dad?"

I still have a black and white photo of my dad holding a little bald headed girl in a frilly pale dress. At his feet lay a bonnet his first born had thrown off her head.

This photo is of my Dad holding me right after my baptism. He looks so young, proud, and a tad nervous as his big hands hold that little form that was me as a baby

I love your selestions. Great choice! My favorite photo memory of my dad was a picture I took out of pure luck. I went fishing with him and once we were done I wanted to get a picture of him holding is fish. I had my camera in hand and jumped out of the boat. As soon as I jumped out the boat shook and my dad fell straight into the lake. So I definately got my picture. It was priceless!

My favorite memory with my dad is that we went together on a mission trip to Belize during my spring break my senior year of college. I was engaged to be married that summer so it was really neat to be able to spend some one-on-one time right before my life, and our relationship, changed completely. It was very meaningful and especially to do this in a mission trip setting where we could get deeper in each other's spiritual lives.

My fave photo of Daddy and me is when I was about 4-5 years old... standing at the beach, hand-in-hand. The picture is taken from behind us - so you just see our backs/silhouettes, a fading sun over a beautiful ocean and me and my Daddy holding hands. Makes me tear up thinking about it. Silly, huh?

My favorite photo of my dad was taken at least 20 years ago and is of him taking a nap on a chair with his suit jacket pulled up over his ears. He has a quirky sense of humor and always joked that when he was napping he was just "resting his eyes" and pulling his suit jacket up over his ears was to keep his ears warm. The photo is a great glimpse into his personality.

My fave memory of my Dad that we caught with the camera was when he was approx 80 years old. For some reason, he had gotten in his head that he wanted an electric train. For a few years, he would look for trains whenever we went shopping, ask people about them etc. So, finally, one Christmas we got him an electric train and I got a picture of his face as he opened it. You would swear he was 8, not 80.

My favorite picture of my dad was taken before I was born. My parents were somewhat farmers. Shortly after my brother was born, my dad was bottle feeding a calf for some reason. One night after preparing the bottle for the calf, he sat down and pretended to feed it to my brother. There's this great picture of my dad with this goofy grin on his face with my brother on his lap grabbing onto this giant bottle (think two liter size). It's great.

My favorite photo memory of my Dad was taken at my wedding, 3 years ago. I love the one of us walking down the aisle. To me it is special because he was trying to tell me a joke as we walked down so that he would not cry. (There were bets taken on if he would cry or not since he is a very emotional guy.) We made it down the aisle without crying!

The other picture I love of my Dad and I would be our dance at the reception. We were ready to start the dance and he was MIA. He got in the room just in time, from the restroom, which caused both of us to laugh. I love that picture because he is holding me tight and telling me that I will always be his baby girl, no matter how old I get and even though I now am married.

My favorite picture of my dad was when he was about an 18 year old private in the Marine Corps, taken somewhere in the South Pacific. He was wearing what today would be called Speedo swimtrunks and had a 27" waist! Talk about tall, dark and handsome! It's no wonder my mom, who had just turned 16, fell head over heels in love with him when he returned home from the war. They were married a month and some odd days later. They were married 49 years when he died. I've missed him every day since that July 4th, 1995. I really wish he could have gotten to know my boys.
