Freedom to Live Wirelessly

Congratulations to Lindsey. Comment #74 out of 595 entries! Lindsey just became a mama for the 2nd time, so I think she'll put this fabulous printer to work soon! Thanks for your wonderful entries.

---CONTEST CLOSED---

I couldn't hide my giddiness from the delivery man who showed up at my door with one of these:

It's HP's latest and greatest: The Wireless HP Photosmart C6380 All-in-One that I'm reviewing for the fine people over at BlogHer. Never have I owned such a lovely piece of machinery! I could hardly wait to open the box and start to play! Neither could the boys...

Opening and setting up became a family event.

Set-up went off without a hitch and without a wire. It's a toss up on what I love most about this printer - it's wireless feature or it's amazing photo printing quality.

On one hand, the wireless capability is life-changing. I don't know about you, but if printing means transporting my labtop to the printer, hooking up the cords from the printer to the labtop, waiting on it to print, and then disconnecting the messy cords, it's hardly worth the energy. Well, that and the fact that my printer was from 1992 and pretty much lacks any sort of functionality other than dust collecting. Now I can hit "Print" from anywhere in our house, and pick it up at my convieniece. If only groceries could magically appear out the tray, we'd be SET!

As for the photo quality, it's unbelievable. It far exceeded my expectations with it's streak-free, crisp, vivid prints. For those of you who follow my blog at 4tunate, you know how much I adore photography. In the past getting my photos from my computer to printed form was a rare event. I think many of us find this as digital's biggest drawback. However, in a matter of minutes I had a stack of pictures printed and ready for display (while still in my pajamas, I might add). Talk about making life easier!

The Wireless HP Photosmart C6380 All-in-One Printer, also features a scanner. Bonus! Plus, it has it's own photo tray and letter tray, so you don't even have to get up from your comfy spot to switch out the paper. If you need more proof of its convienient features, need I mention that you can edit and print directly from your camera's memory card? Freedom without strings wires!

Check out more specific details over at HP.

HP also has a Creative Studio, where you can make cards, calendars, crafts, scrapbook pages, stationary and even Valentine's Day goodies. I made this calendar for our fridge in 5 minutes tops!

The creative possibilities are endless!

The BEST part of this review is that I get to share this lovely piece of machinery! That's right, HP is generously giving one of these away to a lucky commenter! Here's how you can make your life easier too: (Read carefully 'cuz I want you to WIN!!!)

To enter, leave me a comment w/ your email address and answer the question:

How would the HP Photosmart give you Freedom Without Wires?

You can also leave a link to your post on your own blog in the comments below.

The contest will begin at 12:00 a.m. (PST) on Monday, February 9th, and will end Sunday, February 16th at 11:59 p.m (PST). Make sure that the e-mail address you leave is correct.

I'm looking forward to see what else your blog will showcase.

Honestly, at this point anything without a wire gets top priortiy in my house. Maybe that's why I love my kids so much? :) I do so love to print photos, but unfortunately don't have the access to do so... This would be a super neat gift!! Thanks for running this promo Jen!!

OMGosh Jen...can't believe you have the oppurtunity to live wirelessly and give one away free.

A printer without wires would just make my college life simple as I would not have to hook up the laptop to the printer everytime and could go wireless without trouble. Also being able to print GREAT photos with ease is also a plus too. Can't wait to see the results soon!

We take pictures of the kids almost everyday, but so many stay in the computer because hooking the laptop to the printer is too much time as is driving to the store. Also, the quality of the prints are not precise. I have done some photography for friends and family and this would be a HUGE benefit to business and family. Thanks for the opportunity Jen!

With an infant and a toddler in the house, living wirelessly is necessary for safety AND connectivity! (Somehow, little hands always seem to know EXACTLY which cord to pull to either send everything crashing down to the ground, or completely turned off!) No wires would save many a hassle!

Wow, what an awesome and generous giveaway!

Until reading this, I wasn't aware that wireless printers like this one exist. I could definitely use something like this, especially because my dinky little printer that came with my desktop two computers ago is about to die...let alone print pictures! I'm a college student and it's essential that I own a printer, but if my current one dies I won't be able to afford a new one. I also do a ton of digital scrapbooking and would love to be able to print out my creations. Thanks for this opportunity!

I'm a photographer with an office/studio in a 3rd floor loft at home. The family and I spend most of our time downstairs, and to be able to print wirelessly from the laptops OR desktop would be a dream!

Pamela Fierro on February 9, 2009 at 3:30 PM said...

The one and only printer in our house is in my husband's office. Let's put it this way -- his office and my office are at complete opposite ends of the house. Mine's upstairs in the room over the garage; his is downstairs at the far end. We like it that way. But whenever I need to print something, I have to run down the hall, down the stairs and across the foyer to retrieve my documents. And then, when I spot a little typo, I have to run across the foyer, up the stairs and down the hall back to my computer. Then when I print out another copy, blah, blah, blah. You get the picture. Winning this printer would save a lot of wear and tear on my feet!!

Hey this is such a great idea! Wireless printing would be awsome for me because I'm in college and don't have a printer of my own. My digital camera is pretty much surgically attached to my hand, but in order to get prints I have to walk all the way to walgreens (not a short walk). Thank you!

I have two little ones and we have to store all of our camera/computer/etc wires in a drawer. It's such a huge ordeal for me to pull them out and upload pictures, so I save them up and do it pretty rarely. PLUS it's another pain to find a way to print them! This would totally save me time, and I'd get to finally update our photo albums (that are about 3 years behind!)

From age 4 until now ( 6 1/2 years!), I think I might have a dozen "paper" photos of my family - everything else is in lala land in my computer. Should I have a major malfunction, my kids will never know what they looked like as children. I could certainly USE a decent printer - and easy for my remedial skills please.

So, you know how much copying, scanning, and fun projects a teacher can use a printer for. I'm constantly thinking how nice it would be to have a copier at home to not have to lug a book to school just to make a copy.

The photos... Oh man, wouldn't that make life easier too. I take pictures of the kiddos for a class project and can get them printed out just like that. No waiting for them to be developed in store.

Gotta love a free giveaway of a great product ;-)

When my husband is deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan (he's due to leave in less then a year....again, he just got back in Oct.), nothing beats the joy he gets from me snail mailing him pics of the kids he can keep in his ACUs. With the credit crunch and all, this would be perfect for my family. My parents live in Uganda (East Africa), internet connections are a luxury so they hardly get a chance to see uploaded photos of me or their grandson unless I go to the store and get pictures printed. Life would be blissful with this machine because then I would print photos, print them and send them to my family with a lot more ease and at a cheaper price.
I would really love to have the freedom to live wireless and I know my family would be blown away with the regular updates.

Hi Jen -
I would love to have this Wireless HP Photosmart C6380 All-in-One printer because with twins our space is at a premium! My nice office space is now a playroom, so my computer is now shoved in a corner in our master bedroom. With the Wireless HP Photosmart C6380 All-in-One printer I would be able to have a printer without all the wires! I would also be able to print out all those pictures the grandparents can't get enough of!!!
Thanks!

Hello Gen! I was tickeled pick when I saw your give a way just now! You cannot believe how much an HP Photosmart would give me freedom without wires! Having the wireless printer would allow us to finish assignments faster and actually see each other once in a while!!!

So as the other moms with multiples or multiple children said, the less wires the better. And whomever said that boys are the ones that are facinated with machines needs c'mon up to Minnesota and meet the Gacek girls, because these 2 are all over anything mechanical. They have successfully taken apart many objects, some still plugged in. These objects include a DVD player, a VCR, and, yes, a printer, hence the need! And all this before they even turned 2. Double trouble indeed!

As we are coming close to my twin boy's 1 year old birthday (gasp!!) I am finding myself more and more frustrated that I have not been keeping up with their baby books/scrapbooks and have only one photo album put together (and that's the one of their 5 weeks in the NICU that I did BEFORE they came home). I would love this printer because I think it would be such a help in my efforts to document this awesome time in our lives!

So as the other moms with multiples or multiple children said, the less wires the better. Wow! What a great contest! A wireless printer would be awesome for me! All my pics and documents are on my laptop, which means it's a super big headache to get anything printed. Cords, cords, and cords!! I'd love to win! Thanks!

This would be great! All my pictures are on a memory card that I have to take to Wal-Mart to be printed. It would be so much better if I could just print them at home.

Wow this thing is neat, neat, neat! I would love the flexibility of the printer being wireless so I don't have to go into my office to print and pickup photos on a sub-par printer! I do tons of scrapbooking and this would really be a wonderful and guilty pleasure! Thanks for offering it to all of us! :)

I wouldn't have to move the cords or unplug them every time I vacuum our study!

Wireless...the possibilities seem endless, especially not having to hook and unhook the printer to the different computers. I don't like that part.

wireless printing... best thing since sliced bread!
I'm in school working on my PhD and I probably run back and forth to hook the laptop up to the printer 5 times a day. Having a wireless printer (a printer that actually prints, and does not leave streaks of ink all over the paper) would be truly awesome.

How wouldn't this help me? This is awesome. I am the tech-y in my family and that isn't saying much. I take all of the pics at family events, upload them to a site such as Kodak's or Snapfish, then my family usually has me do all of the ordering for them.....then I have to pick them up from Walgreens or CVS "at my covenience." Whatever convenience that is! This would be true convenience....printing them at home so quickly...and I could have so much fun with the creative center. Need I say more?

I didn't know anyone made wireless printers! HP makes great products and this would go so well with our wireless router and laptop! Thank-you! ljblack6

what an awesome bit of technology- we have laptops that we use on one floor of our house but the desktop and printer is elsewhere due to room space limitations- how wonderful to not have to make a trip upstair to print.

Yes Yes YES! This is exactly what I need. I have been researching scanner/printers for a big family project involving loads and loads of old family photos. Has anyone tried to make copies at WalMart/Walgreens? Ugh. Copyright infringement laws, etc. I just want to make sure that our family has memories to pass down. This would be a big help and I would definetly sing HP's praises from the rooftops if I were picked!

That would be an awesome prize to win. With a husband that is a full time coach and Dad and a little one who loves to entertain this printer would definetly get used in our house!
Thanks for the chance to WIN!

I take more pictures than most people I know. It would be absolutely amazing to wirelessly print them out for framing, scrapbooking, etc. What a cool giveaway!

Being a busy part time working mom this would help me take all those pictures on the camera and make them come to life! I now wait every 2-3 weeks and run to Target to sit in front of the photo making machine for an hour while I pray that my 4 month old stays happy while I print, print, print away!

It would be great to not have to take the laptop into the office when I want to print. What a luxury that would be.

wow! this wireless printer would free up a lot of space on my little desk at school. If only I could unload a picture of all the wires i have on my desk haha! <>< Ashton

I would love this printer in order to be completely "wireless"! Ever since getting my laptop (and being wireless with that) I have had to keep my desk top (which is upstairs) and print everything through that...what a pain! One of the main reasons I got a laptop was to get rid of the desktop and free up the space it takes up. This would also help me unload a lot of pictures that are eating up storage on my computer!

I would love to have this printer to start printing out the last 6 years of photos I have stored on my computer. However, my son would probably talk me into printing out pictures of every pokemon that ever existed!

What a GREAT printer! Ours is on the verge of dying. The ink cartridges are no longer available. It sits on the floor under the desk, where the 14 month old stuffs it with granola bar wrappers & removes the ink cartridges when he sneaks away from Mama.

A wireless printer would be SO handy to keep the baby from causing mischief. We'd have the option of moving the printer to higher ground!

This printer would also be GREAT for printing photos and scrapbook projects.

What a fun giveaway!

Thanks for the chance!

I have 3 computers in my house right now so having a printer that is wireless would give me the freedom to print pictures off any of my computers. I wouldn't have to worry about hooking up my laptops to the printer.

Thanks
